Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Power Generation Development Engineer to lead technical scoping and design reviews for new dispatchable generation projects. You’ll work across project management, operations, permitting, construction, and leadership to bring complex projects to life while evaluating traditional and cutting-edge technologies.

Role involves acting as a technical SME, mentoring others, and guiding management on advanced studies and applications to ensure reliability and affordable power

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.
• PE registration may be required depending on business need.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical scoping and design reviews of dispatchable generation projects.
• Collaborate with project management, operations, permitting, construction and executive leadership.
• Evaluate systems and equipment across traditional and cutting-edge technologies.
• Provide technical advisory to management and customers on advanced studies and applications.
