Job summary

ABB is seeking a Solar Service Technician to lead field service activities at customer sites in Wisconsin. You will execute service tasks, troubleshoot PV systems, prepare material lists, and ensure safety and quality during every job.

Travel up to 80% (primarily to CA and TX) and collaboration with on-site customers to communicate timelines and expectations. Strong electrical knowledge and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Solar Technician experience preferred.
• Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PV systems preferred.
• Experience installing all types of grid-tier inverters and be able to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems preferred.
• Experience in PV Component performance and HALT testing preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical plans and field layouts
• PV System site inspection experience
• Electrical knowledge/training preferred.
• Must be willing to travel up to 80% of the time (mainly in California and Texas).

Responsibilities

• Execute service work per work instructions and ABB quality/safety guidelines.
• Deliver quality customer service planning and communicate service timelines and expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer operations during on-site visits.
• Perform field service tasks, diagnose technical issues, and analyze remotely or on-site.
• Prepare material lists and ensure needed parts and equipment are available.
• Act as trainer for field service associates and customers.
