Renogy X in Ontario, California seeks a hands-on Principal Engineer to lead solar, energy storage, and integrated energy solutions for commercial and industrial projects. You will review requirements, size systems, select equipment, prepare concept designs, and deliver proposal-ready technical packages.

The role involves coordinating with teams in China and external partners, reviewing drawings, and ensuring compliance with California electrical and fire safety standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical, solar, energy storage or EPC project delivery experience.
• Proven ability to independently develop solar and storage solutions with own designs and calculations.
• Knowledge of California electrical and fire safety requirements, permitting and interconnection.
• Experience with commercial electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear, inverters, PCS, batteries and controls.
• Ability to produce and review single-line diagrams, sizing calculations, equipment schedules, and BOMs.
• Experience supporting projects through design, installation and commissioning.
• Proficiency with electrical drafting, solar modeling and engineering calculation tools.

Responsabilités

• Independently assess utility bills, site data, conditions and operating requirements.
• Perform preliminary PV and battery sizing, load and backup assessments, and equipment capacity calculations.
• Develop system architectures, preliminary single-line diagrams, BOMs and scopes of work.
• Define operating strategies for self-consumption, demand management, export control and backup power.
• Prepare customer-ready technical proposals with clear assumptions and equipment recommendations.
• Coordinate detailed design with engineering counterparts in China and external partners.
• Arrange licensed engineering review and stamping where required.
• Track regulatory changes and explain practical impacts on design and equipment.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and support commissioning and field troubleshooting.
