Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation in Stratford, CT is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a Mission Systems team that develops software applications supporting critical business and mission objectives. You will execute all phases of the software development lifecycle under general supervision, collaborating with Systems Engineering, Hardware, Program Management, and the Software Architecture group.

Experience with C/C++, Python, Linux, GitLab and Atlassian tools is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience or a Master's degree with no required experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python for developing automated test code and scripts.
• Knowledge of system verification/test documentation, test-plan creation, and execution.
• Experience developing software verification assets (test code, procedures, traceability).
• Experience with design, integration, and test of systems and software operating programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement C/C++ test procedures that verify high-level software requirements.
• Conduct laboratory investigations, troubleshoot software issues, and perform regression analysis.
• Develop and maintain traceability matrices linking test results to requirements.
• Create test plans, procedures, and reports; execute IV&V activities in a lab environment.
• Define interfaces for verification setups; update ICDs as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve verification findings and drive corrective actions.
• Support documentation of verification activities and contribute to certification packages.
• Participate in team planning, status updates, and risk mitigation.
