Job summary

NewGen Technologies is seeking a Software Test Engineer to plan and perform testing across the SDLC, using automation, defect-management tools, and security and performance considerations.

The role requires strong organization, experience with Selenium/Jira/SQL/Linux, and collaboration with Agile teams to improve testability and quality; US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust are required.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Able to obtain Public Trust designation for access to sensitive government information.
• At least 6 years of relevant software testing experience with an Associate degree.
• Experience with Selenium, Jira, SQL, and Linux.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of the SDLC and Agile or Scrum.
• Experience with unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Selenium test automation and test-script development.
• SQL for data validation and database testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, maintain, and execute software test plans, test cases, test data, and results against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Perform unit, integration, system, and regression testing of software applications across applicable front-end, back-end, database, and interface components.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and basic coding or scripting; analyze software behavior and troubleshoot test failures.
• Use Jira to document, prioritize, track, and communicate defects and work items; use SQL and Linux to validate data and support troubleshooting.
• Participate throughout the SDLC, collaborating with developers, engineers, analysts, and Agile or Scrum teams to improve testability and quality.
• Apply security best practices and performance-testing techniques appropriate for complex applications, documenting risks, results, and recommendations.
