Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced backend focused engineer to lead multiple teams across cloud and on-prem deployments. You will shape the roadmap, drive architectural integrity, and partner with product and customers to deliver secure and scalable data-processing platforms.

The role requires strong expertise in backend languages (Python/Java/C/C++), and proficiency with CI/CD practices in Agile environments. A hybrid onsite/remote work arrangement is available in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field with extensive software development experience.
• Experience applying data structures, algorithms, and system design to deliver complex features end to end.
• Proficiency in client-side scripting and frameworks (React/BackboneJS).
• Experience with cloud and on-prem deployments, Agile/DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and execution across cloud and on-prem deployments for scalable systems.
• Own the technical roadmap and ensure architectural integrity of backend services and data workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Architects, and customers to resolve production issues and improve security monitoring and incident investigations.
• Mentor engineers, run design sessions, and advance platform evolution and customer value.
