Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Software Systems Test Engineer to drive integration testing of its aircraft software, uniting autonomy, flight controller, and GCS to qualify an intelligent system. You will oversee system verification and validation, design complex test scenarios, and marshal software through full system verification and validation for flight readiness.

The role requires creating mission test scenarios, reviewing features, writing Python-based test analyzers, and delivering test coverage

Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience in testing complex integrated software systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in test automation and automated integration testing.
• Strong experience with the software product development lifecycle for autonomy or vehicle systems.
• Understanding of system architecture, requirement derivation, and test planning across the V-model.
• Experience producing high-quality technical documentation including test plans and QA reports.
• Proven track record of shipping products in fast-paced environments.
• Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, CS, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Generate mission test scenarios that mimic real-world conditions to validate autonomy and flight control software.
• Design and review test plans based on feature requirements.
• Conduct and manage system verification and validation events for flight readiness.
• Write Python-based test analyzers to report metrics and benchmark system performance.
• Produce test coverage and release-readiness reports aggregating test cases and results.
• Recommend improvements to simulation models and fault injection for advancing the test suite.
