ENSCO Avionics, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Software Systems Engineer skilled in software integration and verification for embedded avionic engine and flight control systems. The test software will be developed using C code or customer‑based scripts and run in a lab environment on the test simulation systems. Knowledge of hardware integration and debugging will be a plus, though not required. The role involves developing formal requirements‑based test procedures, placing them in a configuration management system, and tracing via DOORS to meet DO‑178C standards. Candidates will perform requirements review, software development, simulation testing, and system‑level testing in an avionic lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test software in C or script languages for embedded avionic systems.
• Use software emulators and debuggers to control system operation down to the lowest level.
• Write formal requirements‑based test procedures and record results in the CM system.
• Trace test results through DOORS to meet DO‑178C standards.
• Perform simulation and system‑level testing in an avionic lab environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with avionic software development through the Stage of Involvement (SOI) process.
• Experience developing formal requirements and software test cases and procedures.
• Experience with hardware/software debugging of embedded control systems.
• Excellent verbal communication skills for teleconferences with suppliers, clients, and colleagues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience integrating lab environments.
• Experience with embedded software environments such as VxWorks or similar real‑time toolsets.
• Experience with test‑equipped script languages such as CsGTI or Python.
• Experience with configuration systems such as RAZOR, Synergy, and GitHub.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $140,000 USD
