Job summary

Torch Technologies, Huntsville, AL, seeks a Senior Software Safety Engineer to lead software safety analysis across DoD missile systems, C2BMC, radar platforms, UAVs, and THAAD. Responsibilities include hazard analysis, safety artifact development, and cross-functional collaboration for risk mitigation and compliance throughout the system lifecycle.

The role requires a Master’s degree, 10+ years of experience, strong safety engineering background, and an active secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressively complex systems design engineering experience, including integration of hardware/software systems.
• Active secret clearance is required.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead software safety analysis efforts across subsystems or functions throughout the system lifecycle.
• Identify, assess, and document software safety hazards, risks, and mitigations.
• Support safety artifacts such as hazard analyses, safety assessments, and risk matrices.
• Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, test, IV&V, and quality teams; participate in safety reviews and program technical reviews.
