Job summary

AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, driven by a strong safety focus. We seek a Senior SW Safety Engineer to perform core safety lifecycle tasks across software and hardware platforms.

You will derive safety requirements, analyze hazards, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to build robust safety cases. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in safety engineering for autonomous systems, a strong background in ISO 26262/DO-178C, and hands-on software experience in C++,

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on safety engineering in autonomous systems or regulated industries.
  • Background with autonomous driving systems or mobile robotics preferred.
  • Experience under mentorship in a fast-paced agile team.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant technical field.
  • 5+ years of software development or SW safety in C++, Python, or ROS/ROS2.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct software hazard and safety analyses on perception, motion planning, localization, and vehicle control modules per ISO 26262-6 and SOTIF (ISO 21448).
  • Execute software FMEA/FTA, FFI analyses, and code-level hazard evaluations.
  • Derive SSRs and define monitoring/fail-safe mechanisms in multi-core and Linux/RTOS environments.
  • Review safety-critical code and robotics middleware to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Develop Safety Performance Indicators to measure safety performance over time.
