Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory seeks an experienced Software Program Manager to lead the development and sustainment of high‑reliability software for satellite ground operations in the Strategic & Military Space Division.

You will bridge technical leadership with stakeholder communication, enabling Agile teams, removing impediments, and aligning delivery with mission objectives across TT&C, mission planning, automation and data processing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field.
15+ years with a bachelor’s or 13+ years with a master.
10+ years of software program/project management in DoD/DoW environments.
Experience applying Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery in complex tech.
Leading cross-functional software teams through iterative delivery.
Proven success managing complex software projects through full lifecycle.
Strong ground system architecture and satellite operations knowledge.
Proficient with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalents.
Agile delivery lead, Scrum Master, or Product Owner partner experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to support proposals with technical writing and related duties.
Must be a U.S. citizen with active U.S. Government security clearance; willing to travel 25%.

Responsibilities

Leads cross-functional software teams delivering ground system capabilities (TT&C, mission planning, automation).
Manages project lifecycle from concept to operations, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, security.
Facilitates planning, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement and other team activities.
Partners with Product Owners and sponsors to align priorities and delivery outcomes.
Serves as servant leader, helping teams self-organize and improve flow.
Identifies and removes impediments affecting delivery.
Uses Agile metrics to support decisions and status reporting.
Manages risks, issues, dependencies, change control and related processes.
Reports program status and progress to leadership and customers.
