Job summary

Leidos Defense is seeking a highly motivated Product Owner to lead agile product delivery in a scaled environment. You will define and priority the team backlog, write clear acceptance criteria, and align with business and technical stakeholders to ensure valuable increments.

You will collaborate closely with Product Manager for plan readiness, participate in PI planning, and promote SAFe practices to improve team performance while delivering high-quality solutions for DoD customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; 12+ years of experience or 10+ with Master’s.
• 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar in Agile.
• Experience writing user stories, features, defining acceptance criteria, guiding cross-functional Agile teams.
• Experience decomposing large feature sets into smaller subsets for team execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the customer voice for the Agile team, aligning with business goals.
• Define, maintain, and prioritize the team backlog (features, user stories, enablers).
• Develop acceptance criteria for user stories and features.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to refine features for PI planning.
• Support PI Planning, Iteration Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and System Demos.
• Ensure backlog items meet Definition of Ready and Done.
• Make scope and priority decisions to maximize business value.
