Job summary

State Street seeks a Senior Software Developer lead to contribute to the Transaction Management platform as a leader of a global distributed team. You will develop, test, and maintain software across locations using Java and cloud technologies.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on coding, code reviews, automated testing, and agile practices. Onsite 3 days a week with one day remote, aligning with project needs in a fast-paced financial environment.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of commercial software development
• Experience in micro-services architecture and cloud computing desirable
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Professional Java development experience, core Java and multithreading
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience leading mid to large scale development teams

Responsibilities

• Work independently to develop, test, and debug software enhancements and solutions within the business and technical problem domains
• Be able to handle projects / initiatives independently
• Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs using cloud computing using Java or other related software engineering languages
• Lead / mentor teams and work across teams spread across different geographical locations
• Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high quality end product
• Participate in code reviews
• Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the scrum methodology
• Triage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed and come up with solutions
