Job summary

State Street seeks a Software Developer to contribute to the Transaction Management platform within an agile scrum team. You will develop, test, and maintain software in a financial environment using Java and UI technologies.

The candidate should have 3-5 years of commercial development experience, strong Java core skills, and familiarity with ReactJS, AngularJS, and SQL. The role supports hybrid work with on-site 3 days and 1 remote day.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of commercial software development, proficient in developing complex Java and UI solutions.
• Experience in web development using Java technologies and UI development using ReactJS & AngularJS and SQL development is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of REST API and Object-Oriented programming using Java.
• Basic understanding of messaging platforms like Kafka and MQ.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Knowledgeable of commercial software development.
• Professional Java development experience, core Java and Multithreading.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience working with an Agile development methodology is desired.
• Experience dealing with XMLs / JSON object structure
• Good hands-on experience with Development IDEs like Eclipse, debugging code, deploying and testing local projects

Responsibilities

• Work independently to develop, test, and debug software enhancements and solutions within the business and technical problem domains
• Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using cloud computing using Java or other related software engineering languages
• Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality end product
• Participate in code reviews
• Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Triage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed and come up with solutions
