Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions to identify lab equipment and infrastructure needs.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Lab Technician to support software laboratory operations, infrastructure, testing, telecommunications equipment, and network environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, system testing, network troubleshooting, hardware integration, and lab infrastructure management. This position requires strong collaboration with Software Development, Systems Engineering, Product, and Testing teams to support current and future laboratory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discussions with Development, Systems Engineering, and Product teams to identify laboratory equipment and infrastructure requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory infrastructure planning, hardware implementation, and upcoming program requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures, software configuration issues, network connectivity problems, and application-related issues.
• Track and manage technical issues through JIRA, including root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Manage software laboratory operations, including inventory, equipment tracking, audits, cataloging, repairs, and asset maintenance.
• Conduct periodic health checks of laboratory equipment and resolve identified issues.
• Manage RFQs, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, RMAs, parts delivery, and equipment returns.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test-bench documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to software testing teams and stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives involving processes, hardware configurations, automation, and laboratory infrastructure.
• Identify future technology requirements and implement laboratory upgrade projects.
• Participate in laboratory management meetings and collaborate with testing teams to identify and resolve product issues.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and contribute to effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting tools such as:
• Ping
• nslookup
• tracert/traceroute
• Experience testing complex systems.
• Understanding of Agile and/or SAFe software development methodologies.
• Intermediate proficiency with:
• Windows
• Unix/Linux
• JIRA
• Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting telecommunications equipment and network environments.
• Understanding of Inflight Connectivity (IFEC) systems, including devices, WAPs, ACPU, and network equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Customer-focused approach with strong stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ certification.
• CompTIA Network+ certification.
• CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge.
• Aviation or IFEC domain experience.
• Telecommunications network infrastructure experience.
