Job summary

Qcells North America seeks a Sr. Software Integration and Validation Engineer in Santa Clara, CA to ensure seamless hardware, firmware, cloud and application interactions for solar and storage solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer Science) required; MS preferred.
• 5–10 years of technical expertise in solar modules, solar inverters, energy storage, and related HW/SW systems.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing techniques and test case design.
• Experience testing REST APIs (Postman, Insomnia, or similar).
• Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Ability to read and understand software requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and development teams to ensure requirements meet systems level solution.
• Own system software level testing for alpha validation across commissioning/homeowner/fleet/APIs.
• Design, document, and execute manual test cases for multiple modules (Commissioning App, Homeowner App, Fleet Manager, Reporting).
• Execute structured usability testing and exploratory testing to cover edge cases.
• Maintain and update test case libraries with product changes and new features.
• Test REST APIs for correctness, error handling and contract compliance.
