Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead service delivery for Wealth Management client-facing systems. You will drive stability, security, and scalable solutions in partnership with global teams and vendors.

The role requires strong technical depth, leadership, and the ability to coordinate on-call support and large initiatives across application development, operations, and risk management. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of experience in application development and/or application support.
• Experience building business applications using Java and database technologies.
• Experience with external teams, vendors, and global support.
• Knowledge of DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices preferred.
• Understanding of Secure SDLC and delivery methodologies.
• Experience in Agile or XP environments.
• Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, cloud platforms, REST, Git, Gradle, Maven, NPM, Spring components, HTML/CSS/JS, React/Node.js, Oracle PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead service delivery and support for Wealth Management client-facing systems.
• Drive Change/Incident/Problem Management and releases.
• Improve application stability, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and cross-functional consultative support.
• Coordinate with onsite/offshore partners to support applications and improve processes.
• Attend on-call and support high/critical production issues.
