Motion Recruitment in Dallas/Fort Worth is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead two teams totaling about 10 engineers. The role blends people management with technical leadership in .NET, microservices, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and event-driven systems.

You'll steer engineering delivery, architecture discussions, and modernization efforts while shaping culture and offshore collaboration. Hybrid schedule (three days onsite) with a base salary $160,000–$180,000 and 10% target bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering management experience.
• Experience leading distributed or offshore engineering teams.
• Strong .NET / C# background.
• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Experience building distributed systems.
• Event-driven architecture expertise.
• API design and integration experience.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS preferred).
• Agile leadership experience.
• Sprint planning and capacity planning experience.
• Team coaching and mentorship experience.
• Technical design review and architectural leadership experience.
• Strong delivery and execution mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead two engineering teams consisting of approximately 10 engineers.
• Drive engineering execution, planning, and delivery.
• Participate in architecture and system design discussions.
• Coach engineers and technical leads.
• Improve software quality and development practices.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership.
• Support modernization efforts and platform scalability initiatives.
• Build strong collaboration between U.S. and offshore teams.
• Establish metrics and accountability frameworks.
• Promote adoption of AI development tools and best practices.
