JPMorganChase is seeking a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering for Business Banking in Columbus, OH. You will own complex services, shape technical direction, and drive end-to-end delivery across squads with a focus on secure, scalable digital solutions for small businesses.

You will lead design reviews, establish engineering practices, and mentor engineers while partnering with product and operations teams to ensure reliable platforms and exceptional client experiences.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience building microservices and APIs using Java (8+) and Spring Boot in large-scale environments.
• Strong full-stack engineering depth with modern web frameworks (React or Angular) and pragmatic API/UI design tradeoffs.
• Proven experience building and operating event-driven systems with Kafka, including reliability patterns (retries, idempotency, ordering, and dead-letter queues).
• Solid database skills using SQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with NoSQL data stores (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch) for scale and reliability.
• Experience designing resilient, highly available architectures with secure engineering practices.
• Demonstrated experience leading use of enterprise AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.

Responsabilités

• Lead technical design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities across services and user experiences (Java and Spring Boot with React or Angular).
• Drive event-driven architecture patterns using Kafka, including idempotency, retries, ordering, schema evolution, and dead-letter handling.
• Establish and improve engineering practices, including automated testing strategy, CI/CD quality gates, and release readiness.
• Own production excellence by reducing incidents, improving root-cause analysis, tuning performance, and strengthening operational readiness.
• Improve observability with metrics, dashboards, logs, and alerts using industry-standard tooling.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and technical coaching while standardizing patterns across squads.
• Partner with product/ops/engineering to align delivery plans and manage technical risk.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and security; promote safe reuse of patterns.
