Indeed is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team that builds scalable software systems, delivering high-quality product experiences at scale. You will balance people leadership with technical context, guiding decisions while empowering the team to own solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years' experience; or a Master’s/PhD with proportionate seniority.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale initiatives spanning multiple teams with strong engineering practices.
• Experience with modern software development technologies and architectures (service-oriented systems, APIs, web or backend frameworks).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the team’s delivery roadmap, aligning priorities with product and business goals.
• Partner with engineering peers, product managers, UX, and program management to define and execute a long-term strategy.
• Mentor and support engineers at varying levels, from new hires to senior contributors.
• Create conditions for self-organization, predictable delivery, and healthy velocity.
• Raise the technical bar by setting clear expectations around quality and processes.
• Support technical problem-solving with pragmatic decisions and trade-off discussions.
