Job summary

Indeed is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the development and evolution of scalable software systems. You will work with engineers, product managers, and data partners to translate requirements into maintainable solutions and help shape next-generation capabilities as Indeed scales globally.

You will collaborate across teams, participate in design decisions, and continuously improve your skills while solving meaningful technical problems with ownership and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or a Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD without experience.
• Experience building or contributing to large-scale or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and CS fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability for delivered work.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and enjoyment of solving complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain features and services that support core business workflows.
• Contribute to the evolution of existing systems while helping prototype and deliver new capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to maintain quality, reliability, and clarity.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data partners to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify performance and scalability improvements and enhance existing code accordingly.
• Share knowledge and provide guidance to teammates through collaboration and feedback.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively within the team.
