Job summary

Schwab Technology Services in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced senior software engineer to lead backend development using C#/.NET and Web API. You will design scalable services, drive cloud modernization, and integrate AI-assisted capabilities while mentoring junior engineers.

The role emphasizes on-site collaboration, rigorous architecture decisions, and delivering reliable software for Schwab systems and processes.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in computer science or related technical field
• 8+ years of experience developing applications for Windows platforms using C#/.Net
• 5+ years working with Web API, REST Services, WCF or SOAP Services
• 4+ years of experience in database principles such as SQL, Oracle, Aerospike or MongoDB
• 2+ years leading projects with moderate complexity including architecture decisions
• 1+ years of experience developing, integrating, or operationalizing AI/ML-powered applications
• Strong .NET & C# expertise on backend services with multithreading and memory management
• Experience with Schwab systems and processes

Responsibilities

• Lead development efforts for moderately complex initiatives, providing technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers, while driving cloud modernization and GCP initiatives
• Design and develop highly scalable, resilient backend services using efficient algorithms
• Incorporate AI and automation across the SDLC, including AI-assisted requirements analysis and automated test generation
• Collaborate in requirements analysis, solution design, and scoping discussions using data-driven and AI-informed approaches
• Drive platform modernization efforts, including cloud-native patterns, service resiliency, observability, and CI/CD improvements
