Schwab is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Austin to design and enhance scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-enabled solutions for Schwab Investing Themes. You will work closely with product owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-performance software and improve client experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and/or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of professional experience developing applications using Java and Spring
• Demonstrated Software Development skills to design, build, test, and support scalable enterprise applications
• Advanced Backend Development experience building APIs, services, and distributed applications
• Experience developing and maintaining REST and/or SOAP APIs
• Demonstrated Quality Assurance practices including automated testing, TDD, and quality-focused development
• Experience using AI-enabled development tools or automated code analysis solutions to improve productivity and software quality
• Experience working within Agile Collaboration environments utilizing Scrum delivery practices
• Ability to troubleshoot application and environment issues while maintaining production stability

Responsibilities

• Lead technical initiatives and contribute to architectural decisions
