Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned software leader to design, develop, and optimize aerospace software systems while building the enterprise UI component library for SNC web applications.

You will operate the private package registry, create templates, and enhance the Internal Developer Portal, developing SDKs and platform libraries for SNC infrastructure. This role requires collaboration in an agile environment and the ability to work in a hybrid US setting with periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, with React preferred.
• Experience building component libraries, design systems, or internal developer tooling.
• Familiarity with developer portal frameworks such as Backstage, Port, Cortex, or equivalent.
• Experience with package registry management using Nexus, Artifactory, GitHub Packages, or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.
• Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex software systems for aerospace applications.
• Design, build, and maintain the enterprise UI component library for SNC web applications.
• Operate the private package registry that secures and distributes internal artifacts.
• Create and maintain application templates and scaffolding tools for production-ready services.
• Build and improve the Internal Developer Portal for service catalog, documentation, templates, and platform tooling.
• Develop and maintain shared SDKs and platform libraries for SNC infrastructure.
• Write and maintain developer documentation, guides, and enablement content.
• Collect developer feedback and measure DORA and SPACE productivity metrics.
• Partner with Platform Engineering and AI teams to surface platform capabilities through the Internal Developer Portal.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to meet performance and quality standards.
