Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Chantilly, VA to design, develop, test, and deploy features for a high-assurance data transmission application using Java and Apache NiFi.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure data flow across enterprise networks, contribute to the technical roadmap, and mentor junior engineers within an Agile environment. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development with a BS/BA, or 10+ with an MS/MA.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
• Proven Java and Python experience.
• Experience in Linux environments.
• AWS development experience including S3 and EC2.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Nice-to-have: Apache NiFi data flow management and integration.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with AWS SQS and Apache Kafka for messaging and streaming.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new features for a data transmission application using Java and Apache NiFi.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate with multiple enterprise networks, ensuring secure data flow.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap, advancing the application into the central NiFi hub for US intel community channels.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
• Ensure high-quality code through testing, CI, and code reviews within Agile development frameworks.
