Job summary

VTG is seeking a Software Engineer-Expert in Chantilly, VA to lead a multi-disciplinary team on a modern, secure IT platform supporting Entitlement Programs and IdAM/ICAM. You will be hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, Angular (TypeScript) and AWS, while mentoring peers and delivering robust RESTful services.

The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph, a BS degree, and 12+ years of relevant experience. You will work within an Agile/Scrum framework, driving design decisions, code quality, and secure

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in multiple programming languages (Java, Spring Boot, Angular (TypeScript), and AWS).
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in Agile & Scrum methodologies and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage the tasking of a small-medium size development team.
• Collaborate with leadership and architects on design, planning, statusing, and architecture.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams for integrations and delivery.
• Maintain legacy applications and modernize where appropriate.
• Write custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances.
• Leverage AWS cloud services and develop RESTful APIs.
• Develop Java and Angular (TypeScript) applications.
• Design and utilize ETL methodologies.
• Conduct unit testing, peer code review, and automated testing (e.g., Selenium).
• Mentor and coach developers on best practices in an Agile/Scrum environment.
