Job summary

Peraton in Annapolis, MD, seeks a senior SWE to advance mission-critical software for national security programs. The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, 14+ years in software engineering, and a strong background in Agile teams and modern DevOps.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and integrating software; coordinating cross-functional teams; and contributing to documentation and process improvements while maintaining high reliability and security posture.

Qualifications

• Requires Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
• Requires 14+ years of software engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or related discipline (four years additional software engineering experience may substitute for a degree).
• Experience with JIRA & GitLab for development workflows, issue tracking, and version control.
• Proven ability to coordinate Agile/Scrum teams to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user and system requirements to inform software design, performance expectations, and feasibility.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, enhancing existing systems with new features.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software with broader architecture and constraints.
• Develop and optimize data queries and database interactions.
• Contribute to system integration across environments and implement scalable solutions.
• Support testing through test procedures for software components.
