Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to modernize a mission-focused software suite for broader Department of Defense deployment. You will guide architectural design, implement scalable authorization and key management, and lead teams from concept through delivery in secure enterprise environments.

The role requires deep software development expertise, strong leadership, and experience in Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience leading software engineering efforts and delivering complex technical solutions in enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build relationships across teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage priorities, lead projects, and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of secure software solutions for enterprise authorization, encryption, and key management.
• Modernize and productize existing applications by abstracting environment-specific configurations and creating scalable architectures.
• Design, develop, and maintain software components, APIs, and services across distributed environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams while promoting best practices and quality standards.
• Lead encryption libraries, key management capabilities, and secure integration solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop architectures, define requirements, and ensure delivery of technical objectives.
• Support Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, testing, and defect resolution.
• Manage day-to-day project execution, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate, troubleshoot, and optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop technical documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures for cloud, hybrid, and on-prem deployments.
