Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is seeking a Senior Developer to join the application development team. You will design and develop technical solutions for our highest priority initiatives using Agile practices and act as a technical leader on projects.

You will mentor other developers, work with business partners to ensure requirements and quality, and ensure solutions are well documented. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Java EE, XML, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular 11, Bootstrap, Foundation, Typescript, NodeJS.
• Experience with Java 11 and Spring Ecosystem, Hibernate, jUnit5, Mockito.
• OO design, architecture, TDD, and SDLC understanding.
• Experience with automated tests, build and integration techniques.
• 3 years with Git and IDEs; CI/CD and release management experience.
• Agile methodologies and API data-driven design experience.
• Infrastructure automation tools such as GitLab.
• Strong communication; able to work across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Works with the application development team to create custom software for high-priority initiatives.
• Supports existing apps by responding to incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Fosters continuous improvement in methodologies, procedures, and technologies.
• Mentors and supports other developers in design and construction of software.
• Collaborates with business partners to ensure requirements and quality are addressed.
• Communicates and documents solutions across the team.
• Provides technical leadership on application development initiatives.
• Gains deep understanding of assigned product line and acts as SME across technologies.
• Provides analysis and support for vendor-developed applications.
• Adheres to internal controls and regulatory requirements relevant to financial services.
