John Deere is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for the World Headquarters in Urbana-Champaign, IL. The role involves mentoring student developers, guiding technical decisions, and aligning work with the Digital Product Roadmap.

Collaboration with UIUC and Deere Innovation Lab is encouraged to cultivate future talent. Requirements include 5+ years in large system development, proficiency in Java, JavaScript, React, Node, Python and cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of large system development experience.
• Experience with modern technology stack: Java, JavaScript, React, Node, Python, Terraform, Github, Github Actions.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud hosting and cloud provider technologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Technical Coach for the group of Part Time Students in Deere’s Manufacturing Business Capability Area.
• Provide technical guidance to student employees to achieve User Stories.
• Maintain relationship between Deere and UIUC to promote the John Deere Innovation Lab and grow talent pipeline.
• Contribute to a product team and user stories aligned with the Digital Product Roadmap.
