Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Advisor in Plano, TX to build out an automated big data regulatory analytics solution. You will work with business and tech experts to implement best practices, translate requirements into specs, and deliver scalable Python-based pipelines using Databricks and Spark in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with experience, strong TDD/CI, Agile/Scrum, and AWS expertise.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field with 3 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience accepted.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical specs; gathering requirements; estimating timelines.
• Experience with TDD and CI practices; Agile methodologies including Scrum.
• Designing and developing scalable apps using Python; building data pipelines with Databricks and Spark.
• Handling large-scale datasets with performance optimization; AWS cloud architecture and services.
• Using Git, GitHub, and GitLab for source control and code reviews; setting up GitLab CI pipelines with Docker/Openshift.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technical experts to implement engineering best practices and reusable solutions across states.
• Contribute to architectural refinement, design, and realization of regulatory analytics products.
• Deliver working software with excellent user experience.
• Act as hands-on team member, guiding design, development, deployment, and maintenance in Agile settings.
• Design proofs of concepts for innovative tools and frameworks.
• Maintain deep involvement in implementation and drive timely delivery.
• Identify design problems and propose elegant solutions and strategic UX decisions.
