Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a seasoned software engineer to join the Threat Analytic Systems (QAI) Group. You will design, implement, test, document, and maintain software applications that deliver high-impact capabilities for critical national security missions.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of software development experience with a high level language, including significant experience with Java.
• Experience with Python.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical lead of a software project.
• Experience with web development using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, ReactJS, Angular etc.), web services, software architecture design and development, and software test and deployment.
• Comfort working with loosely defined or high-level requirements.
• Ability to define architecture and scope work and lead a team.
• Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, CouchDB, HBase etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligible for TS/SCI level security clearance (US citizenship).
