Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a seasoned software engineer to join the Threat Analytic Systems (QAI) Group in Laurel, MD. You will design, implement, test, document, and maintain software applications that support national security missions.

You will lead teams, interact with users, perform design reviews, and contribute to rapid prototyping that matures into production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of software development with a high level language, incl. Java.
• Experience with Python and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Technical lead experience on a software project.
• Web services, architecture design, testing and deployment experience.
• Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, CouchDB, HBase).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; TS/SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to design, implement, test, and deploy software applications.
• Interact with users to understand operations and gather requirements.
• Lead design reviews for system design, integration, and testing.
• Document and present work on current research and development.
