Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD is seeking an experienced software lead to design, implement, test, and deploy high-impact applications in a fast-paced environment. You will interact with users, lead design reviews, and document ongoing R&D activities while driving collaborative results across teams.

The role requires deep Java/Python expertise, modern JavaScript frameworks, and experience with non-relational databases, with eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or other related technical field.
• 7+ years of software development experience with a high level language including Java.
• Experience with Python.
• Demonstrated technical lead experience on a software project.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, ReactJS, Angular), web services, architecture design and deployment.
• Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, CouchDB, HBase) in query optimization and scalability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Hold an active TS/SCI level security clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI+poly; U.S. citizenship required.
