Jefferson Health in Fort Washington, PA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale the ServiceNow SPM capability. You will drive roadmap execution, automation-led innovation, and platform governance across portfolio planning, resource and demand management, and IT asset management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of work experience (preferred).
• 5+ years in software development, including distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform (JavaScript/Glide, Flow Designer, custom app development).
• Direct experience with ServiceNow SPM (or ITBM/PPM) portfolio, program, project, demand, or resource management modules.
• Comfortable working with technical stakeholders and PMO partners to shape requirements into working solutions.
• Track record of owning technical solutions end-to-end in a senior or lead capacity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ServiceNow SPM solutions across Portfolio, Program, Project, Demand, and Resource Management.
• Lead implementation of resource management workflows and integrations (e.g., MS Teams).
• Develop timecard management functionality for tracking time against projects/programs.
• Support project management capabilities across strategic programs and portfolios.
• Develop demand management processes to review and prioritize resource/time requests.
• Build digital portfolio management across all in-flight programs and projects.
• Collaborate with PMO and IT leadership to translate strategic goals into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to governance, release management, and best practices for SPM stability.
• Drive ServiceNow automation and process improvements across IT and employee experience.
• Mentor engineers to raise development standards.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for design, build, and scale our ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) capability. You'll be central to how the organization plans, resources, and executes its strategic initiatives — working across portfolio planning, resource and demand management, time carding, and digital portfolio tracking. This role drives comprehensive roadmap execution, strategic platform alignment, automation-led innovation, financial risk reduction, and a stable, secure ServiceNow environment.

Job Duties

• Design, build, and maintain ServiceNow SPM solutions spanning Portfolio, Program, Project, Demand, and Resource Management
• Lead technical implementation of resource management workflows, including portfolio planning, MS Teams integration, and resource management pilots
• Build and maintain timecard management functionality for tracking colleague time against projects and programs
• Manage and support project management capabilities across strategic programs and portfolios
• Develop structured demand management processes to review and prioritize resource and time requests
• Build out digital portfolio management, tracking the portfolio of applications and business systems within SPM across all in-flight programs and projects
• Partner with PMO, IT leadership, and business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into scalable platform solutions
• Contribute to platform governance, release management, and best practices to keep SPM and related modules stable and maintainable
• Drive ServiceNow automation and process improvement across employee experience, onboarding, workflows, and IT asset management
• Mentor other engineers and help raise the bar on ServiceNow development practices
• Support a stable, secure, and optimized ServiceNow environment, reducing errors and improving incident response times

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or
• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years preferred work experience.
• 5 years in software development, including experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, including scripting (JavaScript/Glide), Flow Designer, and custom application development
• Direct experience with ServiceNow SPM (or ITBM/PPM) portfolio, program, project, demand, or resource management modules
• Comfortable working with both technical stakeholders and business/PMO partners to shape requirements into working solutions
• Track record of owning technical solutions end-to-end in a senior or lead capacity
• Roughly 5+ years of ServiceNow experience, or equivalent depth — exact tenure matters less than demonstrated ownership of complex SPM/PPM work

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7 years with a track record of solving complex technical challenges and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with integrations (e.g., MS Teams, other enterprise systems)
• Healthcare IT or other regulated-industry background
• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, or ITBM/SPM-specific)
• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and/or ITOM/CMDB alongside SPM
• Background supporting enterprise PMO, portfolio governance, or IT financial management functions

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
