Cisco Systems, Inc. in Birmingham, AL seeks an Architect to design and modernize high-performance authorization services and platform infrastructure, primarily in C++ and Go. You will lead engineering initiatives from design through delivery and coordinate across teams with a focus on reliability and operations.

Architect, develop, and modernize high-performance authorization services and platform infrastructure, primarily in C++ and also in Go. Lead complex engineering initiatives and design decisions, coordinate work across teams, and contribute to code reviews, production reliability, troubleshooting, and operational support.

Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and at least 4 years, or a PhD and at least 1 year. Candidates need C++ experience with complex backend systems, production distributed systems, software architecture and technical design, and a record of leading initiatives from design through delivery.
