Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Software Engineer for the Optical Inter-Satellite Link team. Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including reviews and operations.
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
• Experience with switch SDK and L2 networking protocols (RSTP, BFD, MPLS, ARP).
• Embedded and low-level networking software in C/C++ or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and enhance the switch-management software for deterministic, low-latency forwarding.
• Design and optimize networking layers of flight software for optical links on embedded Linux.
• Collaborate with hardware, optics, systems, and operations engineers to deploy high-speed optical systems.
• Build tooling for network diagnostics, observability, and fault isolation across the satellite mesh.
