Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a skilled developer to help build a new, state-of-the-art simulation platform for autonomous construction sites. You will work on a full stack, write high-quality code, and collaborate with robotic and software teams to turn complex requirements into reliable software.

You will participate in design discussions, ensure CI/CD quality, and contribute to brainstorming sessions. The role emphasizes collaboration, rapid learning, and delivering value in dynamic

Qualifications

  • Experience in building simulation and rendering platforms.
  • 3D object rendering and manipulation expertise.
  • Proficient with mapping tech (GIS, terrain mapping, OpenLayers).
  • Experience with web graphics libraries and data visualization.
  • Design/publish data and APIs (GraphQL) experience.
  • DB schema design for SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with engineering best practices and processes.
  • Experience with AI coding tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor).
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) experience.
  • Web automation tooling and CI/CD (Webpack, ESLint, Playwright).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of the simulation software stack end-to-end.
  • Write high-quality software and participate in code reviews.
  • Collaborate with peers and onboard new team members.
  • Contribute to software design discussions and requirements.
  • Coordinate with the robotic team to align needs with implementation.
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
  • Engage in brainstorming and ideation sessions.

What You Will Do
  • Participate in the development of the simulation Software stack- full stack
  • Write high quality software, follow best practices and participate in code review
  • Work collaboratively with your peers, Onboard other peers
  • Participate in writing software design and requirements discussions
  • Work tightly with the Robotic team and any other team, aligning their needs with your implementation, reducing gaps and deviations, while focussing on Quality and Value.
  • Improve and Maintain CI/CD.
  • Participate actively in brainstorming and ideation sessions

Required
  • Experience of building simulation and rendering platforms
  • Experience in 3D object rendering and manipulation
  • Experience with mapping technology (Like GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers)
  • Experience in leveraging web graphic / animation standard library
  • Advance knowledge of designing, building and using open source, publish data and APIs (like graphQL)
  • Experience in designing, publishing and maintaining DB schema (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Experience with best practices and processes for engineering team
  • Experience with AI coding tool (like Claude, Copilot, Cursor)
  • Experience with Cloud Platform such as AWS (Preferred), Azure, Google cloud / Firebase
  • Experience with web automation tooling and deploying on CI/CD (Like WebPack, ESLint, Playright)

  • 5+ years of experience hands on coding backend in coding language such as Java or Node.Js
  • 3+ years of experience hands on coding frontend in coding language such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • 3+ years of experience hands on coding with Framework such as Angular, React/NextJs

  • Good knowledge of Python
  • Experience with Nvidia Omniverse or other Simulation Platform
Summary Pay Range

$112,710.00 - $183,140.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
