Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a software professional to contribute to a simulation software stack, covering full stack development. You will write high-quality code, review peers, and work closely with the robotics team to align their needs with your implementation, emphasizing quality and value.

This role demands hands-on backend and frontend experience, plus familiarity with cloud platforms and modern tooling. Irving, TX location and sponsorship are considered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on backend coding in Java or Node.js.
• 3+ years frontend coding with HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience with Angular, React/Next.js.

What you will do:

• Participate in the development of the simulation Software stack - full stack


• Write high quality software, follow best practices and participate in code review


• Work collaboratively with your peers, Onboard other peers


• Participate in writing software design and requirements discussions


• Work tightly with the Robotic team and any other team, aligning their needs with your implementation, reducing gaps and deviations, while focusing on Quality and Value.


• Improve and Maintain CI/CD.


• Participate actively in brainstorming and ideation sessions

Required

• Experience of building simulation and rendering platforms


• Experience in 3D object rendering and manipulation


• Experience with mapping technology (Like GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers)


• Experience in leveraging web graphic / animation standard library


• Advanced knowledge of designing, building and using open source, publish data and APIs (like GraphQL)


• Experience in designing, publishing and maintaining DB schema (SQL, NoSQL)


• Experience with best practices and processes for engineering team


• Experience with AI coding tools (like Claude, Copilot, Cursor)


• Experience with Cloud Platforms such as AWS (Preferred), Azure, Google Cloud / Firebase


• Experience with web automation tooling and deploying on CI/CD (Like WebPack, ESLint, Playwright)

Top Candidate

• 5+ years of experience hands-on coding backend in coding languages such as Java or Node.js


• 3+ years of experience hands-on coding frontend in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript


• 3+ years of experience hands-on coding with Frameworks such as Angular, React/Next.js


• Experience with agile methodology


• Good knowledge of Python


• Experience with Nvidia Omniverse or other Simulation Platforms

Summary Pay Range

$128,470.00 - $208,770.00
