Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Dallas, Texas (Irving) is seeking a seasoned software developer to advance our Simulated Environment for Robotics platforms. You will contribute to the full stack of the simulation software, work with robotic teams, and help drive design discussions and quality.

This onsite role requires 5+ years in backend (Java/Node.js) and 3+ years frontend (HTML/CSS/JS), with experience in 3D rendering, GIS/OpenLayers, GraphQL, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience building simulation and rendering platforms.
• Experience in 3D object rendering and manipulation.
• Experience with mapping technology (GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers).
• Experience in leveraging web graphics/animation libraries.
• Advanced knowledge of designing, building and using open source data and APIs (GraphQL).
• Experience in designing, publishing and maintaining DB schemas (SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience with engineering best practices and processes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Experience with drop animations in 3D and mapping.

Responsibilities

• Develop the simulation software stack (full stack).

• Collaborate with Robotic and other teams to align needs and deliver value.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

What you will do:

• Participate in the development of the simulation Software stack- full stack
• Write high quality software, follow best practices and participate in code review
• Work collaboratively with your peers, Onboard other peers
• Participate in writing software design and requirements discussions
• Work tightly with the Robotic team and any other team, aligning their needs with your implementation, reducing gaps and deviations, while focussing on Quality and Value.
• Improve and Maintain CI/CD.
• Participate actively in brainstorming and ideation sessions

• Experience of building simulation and rendering platforms
• Experience in 3D object rendering and manipulation
• Experience with mapping technology (Like GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers)
• Experience in leveraging web graphic / animation standard library
• Advance knowledge of designing, building and using open source, publish data and APIs (like graphQL)
• Experience in designing, publishing and maintaining DB schema (SQL, NoSQL)
• Experience with best practices and processes for engineering team
• Experience with AI coding tool (like Claude, Copilot, Cursor)
• Experience with Cloud Platform such as AWS (Preferred), Azure, Google cloud / Firebase
• Experience with web automation tooling and deploying on CI/CD (Like WebPack, ESLint, Playright)

Top Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience hands on coding backend in coding language such as Java or Node.Js
• 3+ years of experience hands on coding frontend in coding language such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• 3+ years of experience hands on coding with Framework such as Angular, React/NextJs
• Experience with agile methodology
• Good knowledge of Python
• Experience with Nvidia Omniverse or other Simulation Platform

This position is onsite five days a week.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $183,140.00
