Job summary

Anthropic, based in New York, is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to shape the security architecture of its AI platforms. You will own end‑to‑end security systems, lead threat modeling, and mentor engineers across identity, cryptography, and cloud security.

You will partner with product, research, and infra teams to embed secure SDLC practices, strengthen CI/CD, and drive security ownership beyond the security team. Visa sponsorship is available; rolling applications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with security leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong programming in Python or systems languages (Go, Rust, or C/C++).
• Deep understanding of identity systems, cryptographic primitives, and secrets management.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes security primitives (RBAC, namespaces, network policies).

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, and build complex security systems end to end with minimal oversight.
• Identify systematic risks via threat modeling and implement controls and infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring, growing security culture.
• Enable teams by providing design pattern guidance and expanding security ownership.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines against supply chain attacks and enforce policies.
• Architect systems to protect model weights, customer data, and training datasets.
