Grafana Labs is a fully remote company seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on Security Assurance. You will build security observability and compliance systems, create automated controls, and collaborate with security, engineering, and wider Grafana teams to deploy guardrails across SDLC and infrastructure.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding in Go/TypeScript/Python, experience with cloud-native apps, and applying industry standards (ISO, SOC 2, GDPR, NIST, PCI-DSS).

Qualifications

• Production software experience in Go, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience securing containerized, cloud-native apps with Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, GDPR, etc.
• Ability to guide peers, stakeholders, auditors.
• Degree in Computer Science or Information Security (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Be a technical contributor on the GRC team across certifications, application, build, cloud, and security tooling development.
• Develop, implement, and maintain highly automated security assurance programs to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc).
• Develop systems, automations, and methods of security observability to push the GRC engineering organization beyond just meeting certification requirements.
• Deploy security and compliance checks in daily workflows and build pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into the SDLC and operational processes.
• Respond to customer security issues, security alerts, and potential incidents.
