Job summary

Amazon Leo ALG is seeking a senior software professional to design, build, and maintain foundational software for secure satellite communications with U.S. Government customers.

You will develop brand new services for mission-critical space safety and sustainability, coordinating with hardware, security, systems, and product teams in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Based in Sunnyvale, CA, onsite five days a week with relocation benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Utilize network layer packet processing experience and Software Defined Networking to develop high data rate packet processing system.
• Demonstrate interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment you help develop.
• Solve complex technical problems related to the use of the Amazon Leo constellation for Government customers.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver on software and interface requirements.
• Ensure systems meet Amazon Leo and Government customer performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements.
• Communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
• Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
• Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate them across multi-disciplinary project teams.
