Job summary

Kalman & Company, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and secure mission-critical software for DoD programs on the Microsoft stack. The role emphasizes RMF/STIG compliance, DoD cybersecurity, and validated documentation, with an emphasis on secure AI integration.

The position is remote-based with East Coast team alignment; occasional travel to government facilities may be required. Candidates should have DoD experience and an active Secret-level clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be US citizen with DoD access eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE, or related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in C#, .NET, Visual Studio, and Microsoft development tools.
• Strong experience with SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and advanced T-SQL.
• Experience building front-end apps with JavaScript and EXT JS.
• Experience developing software in DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure software solutions using C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, asp.NET and Visual Studio.
• Develop responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript, EXT JS, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Build secure RESTful APIs, services, and modular components aligned with DoD standards.
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases in controlled environments.
• Develop advanced T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and performance-tuned queries.
• Implement secure database schemas, access controls, and disaster recovery aligned with DoD requirements.
• Apply DoD Secure Coding Guidelines, STIGs, and RMF controls throughout the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with data science teams to embed AI features while maintaining security.
• Work with cybersecurity, systems engineering, QA, and program management.
