Job summary

Labviva in Boston, MA seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance our core purchasing platform, enabling scientists to search millions of data-rich records and order lab goods with analytics for suppliers. Hybrid role with in-office presence three days a week in Boston.

You will lead features end-to-end, mentor teammates, and drive a culture of shipping high-quality software across frontend and backend, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience delivering software products.
• Proven ability to tackle large, complex problems and deliver executable solutions.
• Experience as owner/SME of technical and functional areas with stakeholders.
• Ability to lead greenfield and brownfield projects using modern technologies.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Strong frontend design and development background with supporting infrastructure.
• Track record of contributing to reliable, scalable software.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for initiatives, designing and implementing new features.
• Mentor colleagues and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.
• Contribute to an engineering culture that ships high-quality products.
• Ship code daily across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
• Develop frontend features, components, and architecture to support user needs.
• Build and maintain backend services interfacing with data pipelines and APIs.
• Integrate with external services and product information sources.
• Improve search infrastructure and performance for scientific use-cases.
