Job summary

Coalition, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for Coalition’s Scanning Engine & Data Collection team.

This role designs, builds, and operates large-scale cloud services that perform internet-wide scans and ingest threat intelligence to support underwriting and attack surface management workflows. You will partner with security, product, and data teams to evolve architecture, improve performance and reliability, and mentor engineers across a distributed

Qualifications

• Senior Software Engineer with backend or systems-level experience.
• Proficient in Python or Go, with ability to use both over time.
• Experience with distributed/high-availability services and scalability.
• Hands-on experience with scanning, detection, or data-processing engines.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance.
• Experience in cloud-native environments (microservices, containers, CI/CD, observability).
• Ability to collaborate across product, security, and infra teams and communicate tradeoffs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end systems design for scanning engine components.
• Design and implement high-quality Python/Go services powering scanning workflows.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of scanning engine.
• Translate detection requirements into robust production systems and APIs.
• Drive engineering standards, code reviews, and secure coding practices.
• Contribute to architecture and roadmap decisions for scanning platform.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues with SRE/Infra teams.
• Mentor engineers through design feedback and knowledge sharing.
