Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a highly experienced Senior Lead Software Engineer to advance our AI-powered Code Security Scanner platform. You will own architecture, drive modernization, and mentor teams while delivering scalable front-end and back-end solutions that integrate Azure AI Foundry, LLM-based security analysis, and secure cloud-native services.

You will shape DevOps, implement secure development practices, and enhance reporting dashboards, authentication, and governance across enterprise

Qualifications

• Experience 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in regulated environments.
• Front-End Expert-level React development JavaScript and TypeScript; Modern SPA architecture; REST APIs and authentication integrations.
• Back-End Expert-level Python development; API design and integration.
• Automation and orchestration frameworks; Test automation and quality engineering.
• DevOps: GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline design; Infrastructure automation; Container technologies.
• Cloud: Microsoft Azure including Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure Entra ID, Managed Identities, Azure RBAC.
• AI & Automation: integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and Azure AI Foundry or similar platforms.
• Security: SSDLC, authentication/authorization (OAuth, OIDC, SAML), secrets management, container security.

Responsibilities

• Platform ownership and modernization, scalability initiatives.
• Front-end development to enhance React-based web app, dashboards, and secure auth patterns.
• Backend & AI engineering to extend Python-based orchestration and AI analysis capabilities.
• Design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows; manage CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Design and support Azure-based services and cloud security controls.
