Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in New York to architect mission-critical systems powering trust across our global marketplace. You will design and implement software that ensures accurate payments to earners and scalable pricing simulations, delivering high performance and reliability.

You will own end-to-end development from design to production, mentor engineers, review code, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve architecture, security, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering & Design or related field; 4 years of experience.
• Proficient in C++, Python, Java; knowledge of Git or SVN.
• Experience with SQL or MySQL; data structures & algorithms; distributed systems.
• Experience designing technology stacks, debugging and monitoring production services, and building data-intensive platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications.
• Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack.
• Evaluate complex data, developments, and projects to provide recommendations.
• Support operations and improve engineering productivity.
• Build software components that integrate into a full system.
• Resolve production issues in reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, improve performance, and ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
• Apply data structures, algorithms, and software design principles to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards.
