Job summary

Frontdoor, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to contribute to product-focused development across the stack in the US.

You will document, test, debug, and build scalable solutions while collaborating with a 3–4 person team to deliver medium-sized projects. You will work on performance tuning, data structures, and third-party integrations, with on-call duties and opportunities to lead engineering initiatives in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to debug moderately complex problems and analyze production logs.
• Experience with relational and No-SQL data stores.
• Proficient scripting in Shell, Python, or Ruby.
• Proficiency in languages such as C/C++, Java, Golang, and .NET Core.
• Ability to define processes with measurable objectives and outcomes.
• On-call availability on rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Write documentation and automated tests for code.
• Implement automated tests and ensure coding standards are met.
• Debug production issues and develop mitigation plans.
• Optimize performance of existing implementations.
• Analyze unfamiliar code and improve overall quality and performance.
• Build efficient data structures and optimize third-party integrations.
• Refactor components and deliver actionables in a multi-person team.
• Identify platform quirks and propose quick performance fixes.
• Collaborate to benchmark and address bottlenecks across apps and backends.
• Participate in Scrum processes and contribute to team success.
• Contribute ideas and work with teams to turn concepts into reality.
