Job summary

BuildOps is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale product experiences across frontend and backend applications. You will own projects end-to-end, partnering with product, design, and engineering to turn ambiguous problems into clear technical plans and milestones.

You’ll write clean, well-tested code, build user-facing experiences and supporting APIs, and contribute to design reviews and architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong fundamentals across frontend and backend.
• Experience building reliable APIs, services, and user-facing apps.
• Ability to decompose complex problems into maintainable solutions.
• Solid understanding of databases and data modeling.
• Experience with modern web app patterns and polished user experiences.
• Track record mentoring teammates and driving quality.
• Comfort in a fast-paced startup with evolving priorities.
• Practical use of AI-assisted development tools to improve throughput.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across frontend and backend applications.
• Own projects end-to-end from design through rollout and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to translate problems into technical plans.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with emphasis on reliability.
• Build APIs and user experiences that work across client, service, and data boundaries.
• Design systems with observability, dashboards, alerts, and health checks.
